Westport Senior Ladies welcomed Ballinrobe RFC to Carrowholly this Sunday, in what can only be described as conditions similar to that of a mud bath! 

Keeping a flow was difficult due to the nature of the weather, and there were numerous messy rucks, stoppages and scrums which both teams put 100% effort into until the very end. 

Westport defence fought hard as we struggled to get out of our half in the initial stages of the game, however players were relentless in their protection of the line. 

When the Westport backline found space, this was where we were able to capitalise. All 5 Westport tries were scored by our backs. VC Ursula Sammon was the first to get on the scoreboard, and scored twice more over the course of the game. 

Despite crossing over the line a number of times, Ballinrobe only managed to ground once in the first half and whole game, as a strong Westport defence got in under the ball to deny the visitors any additional rewards for their efforts.
