Westport Senior ladies welcomed Creggs RFC to Joe McGovern Park for the second time in four weeks, this weekend.

Despite having low numbers, the girls in blue were determined to fulfil their fixture and get round two of the league under belt.

It was a hard fault battle, with the visitors having a clear numerical advantage from the start. However, spectators were treated to a very competitive game, where Westport put their opponents under plenty of pressure at numerous points during the game to force errors and turn over the ball.

Tries by Aisling Browne and Aine O’Connor were unfortunately not enough to seal the deal for the home side, however the rest of the season looks promising and the team will surely be unstoppable when we get a few more of our returning players back on the pitch!

Thanks so much to our club and spectators for all of the help and support on the day! 💙
